Who this page is for
A poorly drafted legal document can cost more than any court case. J&J Associates drafts, reviews, and ensures the registration of all your legal documents, from simple agreements to complex multi-party contracts, with precision and clarity.
Legal documents form the foundation of every significant decision in life and business. A will ensures your estate goes where you intend. A property agreement protects your purchase. An employment contract defines your obligations. A partnership deed sets the rules before disputes arise. When these documents are poorly drafted, or not drafted at all, the consequences emerge later, in the form of disputes, losses, and litigation that could have been entirely avoided.
At J&J Associates, documentation is not a mechanical task. We approach every document with a thorough understanding of your situation, your objectives, and the specific legal risks that must be addressed. We do not use generic templates, every document is crafted for your specific purpose.
We handle the full spectrum of personal and commercial documentation, from personal wills and family settlement deeds to complex commercial agreements, joint venture documents, and regulatory filings.

Mistakes we see every month
Using online templates for important agreements
The Harm: Generic templates are not compliant with Indian law and do not address your specific risks. Courts have routinely found template agreements unenforceable.
How we prevent it: Every document we draft is purpose-built. We address your specific situation, not a hypothetical one.
Not registering documents that require registration
The Harm: Certain documents, including sale deeds and some agreements, are legally void if not registered. An unregistered document cannot be produced as evidence in court.
How we prevent it: We advise on registration requirements for every document and handle the sub-registrar process when needed.
Not updating your will after major life events
The Harm: A will that predates a marriage, divorce, birth of a child, or major asset acquisition may not reflect your current intentions and can create family disputes.
How we prevent it: We recommend reviewing and updating your will after every major life event. We maintain records and remind clients periodically.
Fees, discussed upfront
Documentation fees depend on the complexity and length of the document, the number of parties, and whether registration is required. Simple affidavits and short agreements are priced accessibly.
We provide a fixed quote for each document before commencing work, no surprises.
Frequently Asked Questions
A handwritten (holographic) will is valid in India, but it must meet the requirements of the Indian Succession Act, signed by the testator, attested by two witnesses who must be present simultaneously. A poorly executed will is easily challenged. We strongly recommend having your will professionally drafted and registered.
Registration of a will is not mandatory in India, but it is strongly recommended. A registered will is much harder to challenge as forged or tampered with. The original is kept in the Sub-Registrar's records permanently.
A Power of Attorney (POA) authorizes another person to act on your behalf, for property transactions, legal matters, banking, or business operations. NRIs commonly give POAs to family members in India to manage their affairs.
An MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) typically records an intention to deal, it may or may not be legally binding, depending on its terms. A contract is a binding agreement with clear offer, acceptance, and consideration. We advise on which is appropriate and draft accordingly.
Yes. NDAs are enforceable in India under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, provided they are reasonable in scope and duration. Overly broad NDAs may be partially or wholly unenforceable. We draft NDAs specifically for enforceability under Indian law.
